3 of the Biggest Storylines To Look Out For At CWL Paris

With CWL Paris just 2 days away, there are a lot of storylines heading into the $100,000 tournament. 96 teams will have the chance to battle it out for the top spot and opportunity to take home the money, pro points, and glory. Although with any major event, comes major storylines to be aware of.

1. The Revenge of OpTic Gaming

Coming off of their 2nd place finish falling short to eUnited at the CWL Atlanta Open, OpTic Gaming is very hungry for a 1st place victory. The last time OpTic has won an event was 6 months ago, on August 7th, 2016. Their victory came from the MLG Orlando Open during the Call of Duty Black Ops III season. The OpTic roster is considered to be the "best of the best" proclaimed by the fans and their competitors alike. They hold themselves to a higher standard and expect to win any given event. Despite the heartbreaking loss after an event full of comebacks from OpTic they shared their thoughts on Twitter and are optimistic that they will bring home a victor to the #GreenWall soon.

2. European Teams

A controversial topic in terms of the Call of Duty World League lately has been if European teams deserve their place. Certainly the recent showings of teams such as Infused, Splyce, and Elevate go to show that Europe is a force to be reckoned with. With the recent release of the pools, 8 out of the 12 teams are European and the rest of the North American teams must fight their way through the open bracket. The open bracket for this event is filled with some of the best competition that Call of Duty has to offer. Only 4 teams who placed top 8 at CWL Atlanta made it into pool play and the other 4 are in the open bracket. The 4 teams who did not make pool play and have to battle their way into a pool are eUnited, Team Envyus, Luminosity, and PNDA Gaming. Those are just a few big names who are competing throughout open bracket. Other serious threats in the open bracket include the likes of Epsilon, Enigma 6, Allegiance, Evil Geniuses, and Team Kaliber. To say the least the audience is in for a treat during this event, as the open bracket will be a fierce and heavy competition featuring the biggest names in eSports.
