H1Z1: The New Face of eSports?!

     Near the end of 2016 the popular PC game, H1Z1 gained a rapid fan base and grew exponentially. With this growth came a whole new wave of fans and players in the scene. H1Z1 is currently the most viewed game on Twitch at any given time. With a large audience and immense viewership on a daily basis, it is safe to say that H1Z1 is gaining traction and becoming one of the biggest eSports in the circuit today.

     On February 22nd, 2017 the official H1Z1 Twitter account announced the first ever King of the Kill event. This event will be held on April 20th and will be live broadcasted on the CW Network. This first ever event will also come with a prize pool of $300,000 and will feature some of the best talent the game has to offer.

     15 teams of 5 players will battle it out for the top spot and try to place in the money and take home the bragging rights of being the best H1Z1 talent in the world. The top team will earn $180,000 and will have elite status in the community.

     The prize pool is as follows:
      1) $180,000
      2) $60,000
      3) $30,000
      4) $18,000
      5) $12,000

This is only the start of a great eSports community in the works! It is a huge step for the game and the players as well. I can't wait to see this blossom into a huge eSport with a ton of recognition. As it is the most popularly streamed game it won't be hard for it to get big fast.
